This plant gets its scientific name from the purple spots on each of the two side petals. The 3/4"-wide flowers are near the ground among the leaves.
Western Heart's Ease Violet is also called Two-eyed Violet and is known to grow in only one place within the park, the trail along the Middle Fork between China Hole and Poverty Flat.
