Nightshade Family Nightshade April-Nov Stream Sides |
Solanaceae Solanum americanum "Latin: Quieting, for narcotic properties" "American" |
This is a rare Coe plant. This one was found in the dry stream bed just upstream from Poverty Flat. The plant is 2' tall with many clusters of 1/2"-wide flowers. Like its more common purple cousin it is in the same plant family as tobacco and tomatoes. Note the flower resemblance.
