The white petals on long thin stalks often stand out on the green background and appear to be floating like bright stars above the grass.The flower stalks are often 1-2' tall with 1/2"-wide blossoms.

While these plants are not too common in the park they can be found around the Manzanita Point area just past the Poverty Flat cutoff, in Soda Spring Canyon, and east of Jackass Peak in grassy areas.
