In some areas this plant grows in masses sufficient to give the hillsides a blue color. The beautiful flowers also have orange and yellow on them. The bright blue stamens are a noticeable feature.The plant is 4-6" tall with 1/4 - 1/2" flowers.

Birds eye gilias can be found in the grassy meadows along the Flat Frog Trail and along Middle Ridge on the Fish Trail.
