Portulacaceae Claytonia perfoliata "John Clayton, early American botanist" "Perforated leaf" |
Miner's lettuce is found in the shady parts of almost all grasslands. Look under trees and other shady areas. The small white 1/4" flowers form on top of the uppermost leaf perforated by the main stem. Early settlers used this plant as a source of vitamin C.
