Allium serra

"Ancient Greek name"

"Latin; saw (toothed)"

This is a true wild onion, odor and all. The pink to red flower heads are common in open grasslands. The leaves are not very noticable, looking much like grass. The flower head is a ball 1 - 1 1/2" across on a 4 - 6" stem. Look in any of the meadows along Pine Ridge.
