Papaveraceae

Stylomecon heterophylla

" 'Style' and 'Poppy'. The style setting it apart from the true poppies"

"Leaves of different shapes"

The orange flowers on the end of slender stalks will sway gently in the wind, hence the common name wind poppy. The 1-2" flowers stand on a 12" stalk.

This is a plant that is seldom abundant in any area but in good years blooms in Soda Springs Canyon.
