Phlox Family California Gilia May-June Open Grasslands |
Polemoniaceae Gilia achilleifolia "Felipe Gil, Spanish botanist" "Leaves like those of Achillea (finely divided)" |
This could actually be either of the two subspecies found in Coe Park. It is found in open grasslands. Look along Corral Trail in the chaparral area and along Flat Frog and Springs Trails. The small 6" plants have clusters of 1/4" flowers at the top of the plant.
